VICTORY IN EUROPE (VE) DAY
MONDAY 5TH MAY
The 8th of May this year sees the 80th Anniversary of VE day, when in 1945 our local MP, Winston Churchill announced that fighting in Europe in World War II had ceased.
The early May bank holiday, 5th May will see the beginning of events to mark VE day.
The Government have announced that street parties, BBQs and other events will be held nationwide.
At the Wells we are planning to hold a picnic / party on the cricket pitch outfield, from noon on the 5th, from when the bar will open.
